The JRA Reviews

From its inception JRA has specialized in long, synthetic reviews. JRA reviews are often the fullest evaluation that a book receives. Most are 3-4 pages long, some are even 10-12 pages. We aim to review 75 works every year in the separate Reviews Fascicule of some 350-400 pages.

Search our Index of Books Reviewed to find out whether a particular work has been reviewed. Every main author of a work is included in the index. If you do not know the author’s name, you can search the Index by a keyword from the title of the book.

If you are a JRA subscriber, we will provide a free copy of any review you need (up to 4 in any calendar year). Others may purchase JRA reviews at a nominal cost of $1 per JRA page. Send us a message – jra@JournalofRomanArch.com – to tell us which review you need and we will work out the arrangements expeditiously. All reviews are available in PDF form or in most cases we can send an original offprint by mail.
